Rachel writing here...
While reading Emily Jesserer-Dean's blog (BeautyDetermined) about her sleep-less labor in starting a fantastic cupcake business, I decided that Emily deserved something as beautiful as her cupcakes, her art, and well... Emily herself! A fun scarf like those we see on all the ladies here in Sweden -- but practical for at least a couple months in hot n' humid NC -- was in order!

Chris helped out by choosing a beautiful pale violet-grey mohair/silk yarn (mist, #636) that I used to make a light-weight, über-soft scarf. The very open stitch is called a "love knot" (or solomon's knot) using a 6mm hook.
Though each stitch takes a bit of time to create (using thumbs and index fingers for stitch-size control), the scarf does work up a lot faster than first anticipated :-)

I searched the website Ravelry for the basic free pattern by Lucy Thompson. Also, there are several youtube videos (like here) that show great tutorials for the "love knot". Here's hoping Emily enjoys the scarf as much as I enjoy reading about her adventures in cupcake land!
